2006年我針對EAC的Gap格式做過實驗,但是卻沒有對光碟機的Gap偵測設定做過確認,因為Premium2U停產了,才想到要確認一下快掛掉的755SA有沒有問題,和備用的760A是否還活著,以及手上其他光碟機是否能替代。這才發現Gap偵測的設定可能一直有問題,趕快進行了一點簡單的測試。
測試的CD結構如下列,EAC分別以不同的偵測方法和精度,去偵測Gap,再紀錄下TRACK 02的INDEX 01的數值

測試使用的光碟機分別是
Plextor PX-755SA,裝在主機上,主要用來給EAC抓取CD,很低的頻率會燒錄CD-RW。現在已經無法進行任何燒錄動作,也無法讀取DVD,讀取CD最高只能8x的狀態。讀寫頭的功率,已經條到無法再調整了。
Plextor PX-760A,準備替代755SA的備用機。常時間收在盒子中,所有功能正常,讀取CD最高能到48x。讀寫頭的功率,為出廠預設值,未做任何調整。
LG GDR8164B,原本rip wii/GC的工具,目前未使用,功能正常,讀取CD最高能到52x。讀寫頭的功率,為出廠預設值,未做任何調整。

從測試結果看起來,Detection Method A配合Detection Accuracy Secure是三台機器都能在不同速度下跑出相同的Gap偵測結果。而過去755SA設定的Method B配合Secure卻有點問題,三台機器的結果不太相同,再不同讀取速度下也不太穩定。PlexTools的Enable Speedread CD/DVD功能,使用Method A配合Secure時,影響不大。Method C問題很多,完全不能用。
簡單的結論是,用在755SA和760A,就設定Detection Method A配合Detection Accuracy Secure,其他的機種可能也適用相同設定。
而從755SA購入後2006年到現在,使用Method B配合Secure設定,轉出來的CUE+WAVE,可能Gap的部份都有問題,但是因為沒有時間重轉,就決定看開些。
